wPOWER Hub to Set up a Clean Energy Technology,Exhibition Center

Plans are now underway to set up a Clean Energy technology Exhibition ,at the wPOWER Hub office at the Wangari Maathai Institute, University of Nairobi.The exhibition stand is set to help increase public awareness on the Critical Role of Clean Energy Solutions to Climate Change. The exhibition stand will advice on the access of readily available clean energy technologies within Kenya and Africa.

Inefficient lighting and cooking contribute to climate change through increased carbon emissions, and the degradation of natural resources such as trees are cut to provide firewood for cooking while kerosene is used to provide light.

According to the British Petroleum and Royal Dutch Shell, by the year 2050, one-third of the world’s energy will need to come from solar, wind, and other renewable resources, hence renewables need to play a bigger role today, than tomorrow.
